Description
Tis the season when butterflies are in a fair abundance. I caught these two swallowtails feeding on something in the parking lot of the Spicebush Trail at Rondeau Provincial Park a few days ago. The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, on the left, is widespread and fairly common across southern Ontario (the very similar Canadian Tiger Swallowtail is more northerly). The larger one on the right is Giant Swallowtail, and is fairly rare in Canada. One doesn't often get such cooperation between these two.
