Description
There is something iconic about a Saguaro cactus at sunset. It certainly is one of the most familiar features of the southwestern Sonoran Desert, and all the more so when exhibited in a sunset. This was photographed in the desert of southern Arizona, south of Tucson. This particular Saguaro cactus shows arms that are slightly downward pointing, indicating some deformity likely as a result of freezing. It does freeze in the desert. On one trip to AZ, the only place we saw snow on the entire trip was in the southern part of Arizona!
